Tuition Increase - March 2023
Hello Compass Families,
This letter is to inform you of a rate increase in late March.
2023 is going to be an exciting year! Besides helping us cover the increase in cost from our vendors, you will also be seeing:
In 2023 Compass will be moving toward a $15 minimum wage and additional increases for Classroom Teachers and Management. We know that turnover affects you and your family and we are going to do what we can to get our staff to thriving wages. Since 2020 we have added health insurance, mental health and virtual health management opportunities, 401K with a company match, an increase in child care discount and an average pay rate increase of $4/hour. This next stage we are striving to be the most sought after program to have a career with because of our employer reputation and wages.
Mid 2022 we started building a staff library and amazing lesson planning resources to help teachers do their job well without having to prep off the clock. This program is being run by one of the best preschool teachers we have ever had! It includes a well attended planning night where teachers from all the schools come together and learn together, help each other and build an amazing culture! We are going to be investing a great deal of funds in this program in 2023, making sure all teachers have the resources they need to deliver a dynamic curriculum.
We think learning should be fun! We are always looking for ways to create opportunities for learning beyond worksheets! We have started booking visitors and in-house field trips for your students. Our Curriculum Enrichment Program includes monthly visits from: Professional Storyteller Joni, Yoga with Amy, Music with Meghann and additional monthly theme based visitors like Cock a Doodle Zoo, reptile show, aquatic artist, The Bug Guy, and the DNR. All of these experiences are included in your tuition! Many of these visits begin in March and will increase throughout the year as we find the right experiences for the kiddos! *Some schools do have the Tumble Fun Bus visit, this is an extra program cost paid directly to the provider as they do not have enough room for all of the students to participate.
“Top Secret” Project: We are currently in the the final stages of building our own child care management software with a parent communication app! This is filled with amazing automations that will be better than anything in the US market… IF we do say so ourselves! With the billing automations we have decided to rewrite our rates to best accommodate this and classroom staffing needs. Your rates will change now with a birthday instead of room changes. This will allow for extra staff during demanding times of the day in the younger classrooms. (i.e. potty training, diapers and meal times). We will keep you posted on a timeline for the APP implementation, but our conservative goal is to be completely launched by fall. *You are going to love this app!
We will also be evaluating every school to make sure that each facility meets our quality expectations. Each month we will be doing something at each school to help us reach this goal. We hope to complete our "wish list" by mid 2024. We will do our best to give you updates along the way!

You can find these updated rates posted on your child's Kangarootime account or physical copies will be available at your request. The increase will appear on your invoice due March 23rd, for care the following week March 27th.
