Sample Infant Schedule

​6:30am - 8:00am- Arrival at School (Combined with Other Infants), Free Play and Exploration

8:00am - 8:30am- Morning Snack

8:30am - 9:00am- Diaper Change (Every 2 Hours and As Needed)

9:00am - 10:00am -Circle Time/Story Time/Large Group Activities

10:00am - 10:30am- Small Group Activities

10:30am - 11:00am- Diaper Change (Every 2 Hours and As Needed)

11:00am - 11:30am- Free Play/Get Ready For Lunch

11:30am - 12:00pm- Lunch

12:00pm - 12:30pm- Student Led Free Play and Exploration

12:30pm - 1:00pm- Diaper Change (Every 2 Hours and As Needed)

1:00pm - 2:30pm- Teacher and Student Led Exploration and Activities

2:30pm - 3:00pm- Diaper Change (Every 2 Hours and As Needed)

3:30pm - 4:30pm- Teacher Led Activities (Review/Revisit Activities)

5:00pm - 6:00pm- Free Play and Exploration, Ready for Pick Up

**Please note this schedule is used as a guideline to the day's activities. Individual infant schedules are provided by the parent which take priority as to meet the infant's needs. This includes what time they should eat and sleep. Teachers will provide curriculum when the individual schedule allows for it.

Sample Toddler Schedule

6:30am - 7:45am - Choice Time, combined with other toddlers

• Greet parents and students. Have students wash hands upon arrival and choose an activity. Make sure the student is checked into brightwheel and add pictures of students participating in activity. Diapers as needed.

7:45am - 8:00am - Clean up (wash tables), students wash hands and go straight to table for AM snack

8:00am - 8:30am - Morning Snack

• Update brightwheel. Optional group picture. Sit with students as they eat. When students finish, they can clean up their plates/bowls and then go wash hands. (Work towards having all students sit and wait until all children are finished eating.) When finished, have students pick a book to read quietly and wait until circle time starts. Clean up tables and floors as students finish.

8:30am - 9:00am - Circle Time

• Welcome Song
• Children share stories (Previous weekend/evening, what are they looking forward to)
• Calendar
• Weather
• Discuss what the plan is for the day, review previous curriculum
• Reminders about classroom/playground rules 
  • If there are two teachers, one teacher will lead circle time while the other finishes cleaning up AM snack, update brightwheel, get activities ready for morning, or helps with group time.

9:00am - 9:30am - Change diapers - Small groups/centers

9:30am - 10:00am - Small groups/Centers, get ready to go outside. 

• Apply sunscreen if needed. 

10:00am - 10:30am - Outside Time

• Name to face while lining up in the room, at hallway door, entryway/office hallway door, back door, and on playground. Be sure to bring clipboard with roster, emergency cards, epi pens, and cell phone when leaving the classroom. Take pictures on brightwheel. Must be off of the playground by 10:00am. Do name to face checks again as you make your way back to the classroom.

10:30am - 11:00am - Small Group and Center Time Curriculum

• Children must wash hands after coming in from outside. Large group, small groups, center time. (Gross motor, Sensory, Books, Dramatic Play, Art, Manipulatives, Fine Motor, Music) Also need to be doing preschool basics such as letters, numbers, name, dates, shapes (writing and recognizing). Take individual and group pictures for brightwheel, update with curriculum activities.

11:00am - 11:30am - Change diapers, get ready for lunch

• Students need to wash hands again before lunch and head straight to the table. Teacher will wipe tables. Teacher can read a book or play a sitting game like I Spy or sing songs while waiting for other kids to join and for lunch to start. 

11:30am - 12:00pm - Lunch Time

• After serving children, put out cots. Update brightwheel, sit with children while eating.  Encourage kids to sit and wait nicely until all students are about done. Dismiss kids to take care of their plate/cup and go wash hands. If two teachers, one can help with hand washing and helping kids get to cots with a book to quietly read to themselves. Second teacher should start to clean up tables and floor as kids finish.

12:00pm - 12:15pm - Get ready for quiet time

• Students should wash hands if they haven’t already. Then they may find a book to read quietly on their cot or other quiet activity. Quiet music or book on CD can start playing to get kids to calm their bodies.

12:15pm - 2:15pm - Quiet Time

• Children are encouraged to rest quietly. Those that do not fall asleep after 30 minutes will be offered a quiet activity to do while the other children rest. This may be something they do while on their cot or at the table quietly. The teacher should be working on updating brightwheel with a snapshot of the days activities and anything else that needs to be updated and communicated. Teachers should use this time to plan and prep lessons, clean the classroom, bathroom, toys, shelves, etc. Second teacher should help with any of this as well. Take out trash.

2:15pm - 2:30pm - Wake up, change diapers and get ready for snack

• Have kids put their nap time blankets and/or quiet time activities away, wash hands and go straight to the table. If the teacher is by themselves, put cots away when kids are sitting at the table for snack. If two teachers, one can change diapers and one can put cots away and supervise children and read a book while they wait for snack.  

2:30pm - 3:00pm - Afternoon Snack

• Update brightwheel. Optional group picture. Sit with students as they eat. When students finish, they can clean up their plates/bowls and then go wash hands. (Work towards having all students sit and wait until all children are finished eating.) When finished, have students pick a book to read quietly and wait until circle time starts. Clean up tables and floors as students finish.

3:00pm - 3:45pm - Circle time/Large Group Curriculum

• Closing circle time; review and revisit the morning curriculum. Take pictures.

3:45pm - 4:00pm - Change diapers, get ready for outside time

• Apply sunscreen if needed

4:00pm - 4:30pm - Outside Time 

• Name to face while lining up in the room, at hallway door, entryway/office hallway door, back door, and on playground. Be sure to bring clipboard with roster, emergency cards, epi pens, and cell phone when leaving the classroom. Take pictures on brightwheel. Must be off of the playground by 4:00pm. Do name to face checks again as you make your way back to the classroom.

4:30pm - 5:15pm - Extended Learning

• Finish up any projects that need to be completed. You may do the same centers as the morning; productive and meaningful centers/activities. Pictures for brightwheel.

5:15pm - 6:00pm - Choice Time, ready for pick up

• Students need to wash hands after coming in from outside. Teacher may pick one or two activities for students to do while waiting to be picked up. Teacher should be cleaning/shutting down the room; students can help. Make sure students are being checked out of brightwheel.

9:00am - 9:30am - Outside Time

Be sure to bring clipboard with roster, emergency cards, epi pens, and cell phone when leaving the classroom. Take pictures on brightwheel. Must be off of the playground by 9:30am. Do name to face checks again as you make your way back to the classroom. 

9:30am - 11:15am - Curriculum Time

• Large group, small groups, center time. Be sure to bring clipboard with roster, emergency cards, epi pens, and cell phone when leaving the classroom. Take pictures on brightwheel. Must be off of the playground by 5:15pm. Do name to face checks again as you make your way back to the classroom.

5:15pm - 6:00pm - Choice Time, ready for pick up

• Students need to wash hands after coming in from outside. Teacher may pick one or two activities for students to do while waiting to be picked up. Teacher should be cleaning/shutting down the room; students can help. Make sure students are being checked out of brightwheel.
